Projects

Warning: many of the links do not work... Much of the information is outdated.

Here is a list of some of the projects I am currently involved with:

  1. Further development and application of the generic programming environment Diffpack:
    1. handling of differing grids/domains for multi-physics simulations,
    2. using Diffpack as a computational kernel in other codes,
    3. creating very high-level scripting (Python) interfaces to Diffpack,
    4. a revised, 2nd edition, of my book about numerics with Diffpack,
    5. vibrations in elastic media,
    6. coupling of Diffpack and ANSYS,
    7. tools for solving stochastic partial differential equations,
    8. tools for easy programming of mixed finite element methods,

  2. Computational geoscience

  3. The use of very high-level languages (Python/Perl) for creating flexible scientific software environments

  4. Robust, fully implicit methods for the Navier-Stokes equations

  5. Re-use of operating splitting-based codes in fully implicit formulations of systems of partial differential equations

  6. A framework for parallel multi-physics simulations

  7. New educational initiatives

  8. Flow and deformations of the left heart ventricle

  9. Use of physical models to increase the realism in computer games
