Project: A Framework for Multi-Physics Models
A Framework for Multi-Physics Models
Multi-Physics models involve coupling of different physical
phenomena, often occuring in different parts of a global domain.
In this project we want to develop numerical methods and
software tools that make it easier to implement multi-physics
simulators.
The numerical approach is based on overlapping and non-overlapping
domain decomposition methods, and the software approach utilizes
object-oriented programming in a way that simulators developed for
a single physical phenomenon (PDE) can be reused also in a coupled
multi-domain context. An important point is to integrate parallel
computing into the multi-physics framework.
