I work as a Senior Research Scientist at Simula Research Laboratory and as Associate Professor (part time) at the Department of Informatics at the University of Oslo.
I am head of the Automated and Distributed Computing research group. I am also managing the YFF (Young Outstanding Investigator) project Automation of Error Control with Application to Fluid-Structure Interaction in Biomedicine.
My research concerns the automated solution of differential equations, in particular automated error control and implementation of finite element methods.
I'm one of the authors of FEniCS, a project for development of free software for automated solution of differential equations. In particular, I'm involved in the development of DOLFIN, a C++/Python library for the solution of differential equations, FFC, a compiler for finite element variational forms, and UFC, a framework for finite element code generation.
