The thesis "Applications of high level software for parallel solution of Partial Differential Equations," presented for the degree Doctor Scientiarum at the Department of Informatics, University of Oslo, submitted 08.02.2006, can be downloaded here: Thesis, pdf-document This is the final version that was printed by the University of Oslo, faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, in their dissertation series. Just a sidenote, the degree Dr.Scient is the degree used in Norway at the time when I started my Dr study, and corresponds to the more internationally flavourd Ph.D. Students starting on a doctorate program in Norway now get a Ph.D, but since I started back in 1996, I got the old degree instead. Related software Some software related to the first paper in the thesis may be obtained from: software.simula.no/sc/bsp-python The software for the second paper, PySE, may be obtained from the pyfdm page at sourceforge. On the 30 March 2006, I successfully defended the thesis. The trial lecture was on the topic Verification of Scientific Codes, an interessting topic for everyone dealing with implementation of PDE solvers, as we always should have take into account that our software not deals correctly with the equations we want to solve.
